Alexander Salov

Alexander Salov is Chief Geologist for the Koktenkol tungsten-molybdenum deposit, where he directs exploration, resource growth and the geological workstreams that underpin the project's technical studies.

A graduate of South Ural State University in geology, qualified as a geochemist with a specialisation in mineralogy, he leads the construction of geological and block models, directs resource and reserve estimation to JORC and NI 43-101 standards, and owns the QA/QC framework that governs geological data quality. He prepares and supports the geological sections of scoping studies, PEAs and feasibility studies, and interfaces with government bodies, investors and international consultants.

He spent eight years at the Tominsky copper-porphyry operation as section and senior geologist, running grade control and ore delivery to the concentrator, maintaining the deposit database and building ore-body models in Micromine. Earlier roles at the Sultanovskoye copper-pyrite mine and in engineering geology across the Urals and Western Siberia added reserve-growth and geotechnical experience, and his academic work at the Institute of Mineralogy contributed to the morphogenetic classification of pyrite deposit occurrences.
