Aidar Serikbay

Aidar Serikbay heads the Research Center at Leopard Invest, where he directs the laboratory and pilot programmes that de-risk the group's hydrometallurgical flowsheets.

He trained as a chemist at Karaganda Buketov University, holds a master's degree in metallurgical engineering and technology from Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University, and is completing doctoral research at the Saint Petersburg State Institute of Technology on the recovery of copper from productive leach solutions by hydrometallurgical methods.

Prior roles include process engineer at Ulytau Gold Processing, shift foreman and process engineer at the Kazakhmys Smelting pilot hydrometallurgical plant for crude concentrates, and research engineer at KazHydroMed, where he worked on ion-exchange recovery of valuable metals from acidic process solutions. He began his career in assay and chemical analysis at the Nurkazgan concentrator.
